About the role
Our Discovery function explores across Canada and Australia, targeting Evolutions next generation of orebodies and growth. As Principal Geologist - Generative you will drive the delivery of new gold and copper exploration projects across key jurisdictions aligned with Evolutions growth strategy.
**Key result areas in this role include**:
Work with key members of the Discovery team to develop and implement our exploration strategy.
Lead technical due diligence of exploration projects (early and advanced stage) in collaboration with jurisdiction Exploration Managers and the Business Development team
Rank, prioritise and track potential new projects to focus generative efforts.
Support the Business Development team in technical due diligence of operating assets when necessary.
Provide technical guidance and input into exploration programs on Evolutions active projects.
Maintain a strong industry network to connect Evolution to new opportunities.
Mentor a diverse and inclusive team of exploration geologists, helping to create a high performing and engaged team environment
Consider and manage the cultural heritage, community relations and environmental implications of exploration activities and in the assessment of new projects
Be proactive in identifying and reporting potential hazards and eliminating risk taking behaviours or actions.
Commit to maintaining health, safety and security standards and principles, both within your own workplace and through the identification of potential risks throughout Evolution
About you
In this key role, to be successful, you will need to demonstrate the below:
A passion for making discoveries and demonstrated experience in planning and leading exploration to successfully execution, supported by tertiary qualification in Geology, with post-graduate qualification in economic geology highly regarded.
Previous experience in project generation across gold and copper mineralisation styles and geological environments, including orogenic, epithermal, IOCG and porphyry styles ideally. Experience in technical due diligence of advanced-stage projects highly regarded.
Good working knowledge of North American and Australian Australia geological terrains and mineral districts and associated professional networks.
Knowledge of exploration standards and regulations with experience working under the relevant Safety, Environmental and Cultural Heritage legislation in the respective states
Collaborative leader with proven business acumen and commercial awareness combined with a succinct style of communicating concepts in simple language to a non-technical audience
This is a significant opportunity to further your professional development at senior managerial and technical level with an attractive remuneration package including incentive and development programs. The role can be based in Perth, Brisbane, or Sydney, with hybrid working with a requirement to travel to operational and exploration sites as required.
