An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced professional to lead a multidiscipline engineering team at our site in the northern region of Tasmania. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this role will lead a department responsible for providing strategic and specialist engineering advice lifecycle management and project delivery.
**Job Description:** The role will be a crucial part of the site's senior leadership team. You will lead and coordinate the activities within the Project Office and maintain systems processes to deliver engineering governance.
Other key components include:
* Developing and leading a technically competent multidiscipline focused project team
* Management of the site Capex definition delivery program
* Development of project feasibilities
* Liaising with third party engineering services for specialist engineering advice
* Overseeing preparation engagement awarding of project contracts
* Supervision of contracting principles for execution of works
* Ensuring best practice engineering project management governance
* Providing core engineering specialist engineering services
* Providing expert guidance management of operational assets supporting implementation of plant lifecycle strategies which support the strategic business plan
**Required Skills and Qualifications:** To be considered for this role, you will be a leader in your field with vast heavy industry experience and proven leadership stakeholder engagement capabilities. A strong technical skill set combined with commercial acumen is critical.
* Proven success in engineering maintenance asset management roles in heavy industry resources manufacturing construction sectors
* Advanced Diploma minimum Degree qualification preferable in Engineering discipline
* Project Management qualification preferable
* Strong influencing relationship building negotiating skills
* Proven leadership management planning skills mentor develop high performing teams
* In depth understanding asset lifecycle management strategies value chain
* Experience managing development execution operational capital budgets
* Proven experience engaging influencing key stakeholders
* Familiarity reliability processes tools
* Formal risk management Incident investigation methodology desirable
* High proficiency typical engineering office software suites including SAP
