Overview
The Area Operations and Maintenance Department is seeking to appoint a Maintenance Technician. This is a permanent full-time position in Australia, based in Carlingford and will support the NSW North Facility Management Group. This position reports to the Facilities Manager.
Responsibilities
The Maintenance Technician will help provide and maintain a range of facilities including meetinghouses, schools, administration facilities, grounds, and mission quarters, which provide Church members places where they can worship, learn, pray, make, and renew sacred covenants.
Specific duties include servicing, repairing or replacement of key facility systems, minor plumbing and electrical repairs, painting and plastering, carpentry, window and door repairs, tiling and general handyperson duties. You may be required to travel within Tonga.
Qualifications
* High School graduate, plus: 1 year trade school, or 2 years facilities / property maintenance experience
* A valid, current driver's license (essential)
* A great attitude, attention to detail, and proven customer service skills
* Experience in operating machinery, equipment, and a range of tools relevant to maintenance work
* Health and safety experience especially with handling cleaning agents and chemicals
* The ability to lift and carry 10kg regularly, climb step ladders with ease and work at heights
* High integrity and uses wise judgment
* A commitment to ongoing education and development, both technically and professionally
* A good command of the English language
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) with the ability to quickly learn new applications. Skilled in basic network troubleshooting, and report submission.
* A police background check may be required.
