Role Overview
The Network Support Engineer provides Level 2 technical support onsite at the customer premises, Monday‐Friday during business hours. The role focuses on data networking, security and wireless, supporting managed service customers primarily in South Australia with possible travel to other states.
Key Accountabilities
* Provide daily network operational support within SLAs and under the DXC ITIL framework.
* Assist with network installations and rollout of customer data networks.
* Collaborate with 3rd‐party vendors and coordinate field service personnel.
* Escalate complex issues to vendors and drive resolution within defined timeframes.
* Participate in on‐call rosters and attend CAB, TRB and remote conference calls during P1/P2 incidents.
* Maintain accurate documentation, logs, timesheets and weekly summary reports.
* Support transition to BAU teams and ensure compliance with DXC standard operating procedures.
* Promote cost‐effective solutions and quality service to enhance customer satisfaction.
Additional Responsibilities
* Promote the DXC image and value‐added services internally and externally.
* Support other DXC areas as required.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety, professional conduct and company objectives.
* Provide updates on escalated Level 3 and 4 problems.
Critical Experience
* Active Cisco CCNA certification in Routing, Switching and/or Security.
* Understanding of LAN, WAN and network fundamentals.
* Experience with network software patching and upgrades.
* Major incident management experience with solid methodologies.
* Minimum two years in networking technical support or incident management.
* Excellent written and oral communication in English.
* Professionalism and strong customer focus.
* Australian citizenship; NV1 or base security clearance desirable if applicable.
Technical Experience
* Experience with Cisco Nexus, DNAC, SDWAN, ISE, ASA/FirePower.
* Knowledge of network monitoring, wireless and vendor security products.
* Experience working in mission‐critical environments and within ITIL v3.
* Project or support engagement with Cisco networking products for at least 2 years.
Qualifications
* Diploma in Computer Science or Engineering (highly desirable).
* Cisco Routing, Switching or Security wireless certifications.
* ITIL process and policies training or certification.
