The Role:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Head of Operations with a background in business development to join our team.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a critical role in shaping service strategy, driving growth for the business and being the face of Southern Star Care.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for delivering high-quality, financially sustainable, and compliant services that create positive outcomes for people with disability and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute to whole-of-organisation strategic planning and decision-making
* Ensure services meet financial performance targets
* Drive innovation and long-term sustainability
* Provide mentoring and direction to direct reports (General Manager, HR Coordinator, Accounts Coordinator) and the wider team
* Identify opportunities, expand reach and strengthen local networks.
* Promote services through strong communication and stakeholder engagement.
* Represent the organisation in state networks and forums. Including, but not limited to attending important webinars, networking events and exhibitions as required.
* Collaborate with participants, families/carers, support coordinators, staff, and stakeholders to support individual goals and resolve concerns
* Develop, review, and update policies, procedures, and risk management documentation
* Ensure compliance with NDIS Practice Standards, NDIS Code of Conduct, and legislative requirements
* Educate and support staff to promote a culture of safety, quality, and compliance
About You:
* 5 + years in senior operational or service delivery leadership, within the NDIS or disability services.
* Experience leading the business development function within the NDIS or disability services and building referrers and community networks.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
