Supporting Abilities for Everyone (S.A.F.E.) is seeking a passionate Disability Support Worker to join the team, located throughout Western Melbourne.
* 35-year-old male and female participant(s).
* Kurunjang location.
* 5 hours per day. Day(s)/time(s) to be confirmed, but believed to be seven days a week.
* Female: Level 2 Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), borderline personality disorder (BPD), mental health/psychosocial diagnoses.
* Female support worker(s) only.
* High IQ/high functioning. Known to trauma dump.
* Behaviours of concern experience favourable. Rarely directed towards support worker.
* Participant is known to self-harm (head banging, etc).
* Tasks include: Predominantly in-home support with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), possibility of basic community access.
* Male: Level 3 Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
* Male support worker preferred (with similar interests), but open to females.
* Participant interests: Gaming (Dungeons and Dragons), Pokemon, similar activities.
* Tasks include: Predominantly in-home support, basic community access, building capacity and independence.
* Subject to meet and greet for both. More information to come once a potential suitable support worker has been found.
* Possibility to pick up additional work with other participants nearby in the future or a bit closer to the city if you're willing to travel.
* Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
* Current National Police Check
* Current Working with Children Check (Employee status/if working with participants <18 years of age).
* Valid Australian Driver's License.
* A reliable vehicle with Comprehensive Car Insurance (to transport participants).
* Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (Approximately $123).
* Fully vaccinated against Covid-19 (minimum of two doses).
* The right to work in Australia.
