Where you’ll be working
You will be working with the Clinical Director - Surgical and Perioperative at a regional health service to assist with providing a high level of strategic leadership and direction to the service. Serving a population of approximately 116,000, the medical services across the region provide acute and sub‑acute services. You will work across two hospitals both with busy emergency and general medical departments. Obstetrics and gynaecology and paediatrics are primarily located at the larger site with outpatient services at both.
There are anaesthetic services provided at both sites however primarily based at the larger facility as a result of on call services. You will support a busy general orthopaedic and general surgical services and extensive outpatient services for a range of subspecialty services.
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated leader who views challenges as opportunities and is driven by a passion to improve healthcare in the complex world of modern health systems. You will play a key role in developing health care at both patient and system levels. The Department of Health offers a comprehensive undergraduate and graduate clinical training program, with close ties to the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School. As such, you will be responsible for providing leadership and help with the delivery of the Undergraduate general medical education program.

Salary information
Expect an attractive package with a range of allowances in line with the TAS Award.
Requirements
Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or equivalent.
