At Strategic HR, we focus on helping business owners build thriving workplaces. We provide clear, practical HR that balances legal compliance with genuine care.
Our goal is to make doing the right thing — both legally and for the people involved — the everyday standard.
The Role
This role is about providing business owners with the guidance they need to handle HR issues, stay compliant, and keep their teams productive. You will be a reliable partner to our clients, using your professional judgement and commercial awareness to work independently across different industries.
What you'll be doing:
Advisory: Providing clear, practical HR advice across the full employee lifecycle, including performance management, misconduct, and restructures.
Research: Independently checking employment law, modern awards, and relevant case law to ensure advice is accurate and defensible.
Compliance: Drafting and reviewing HR documents such as contracts and policies to ensure they are legally compliant, practical, and easy to use, including the accurate interpretation of national and state-based awards.
Legislation: Keeping up with legislative changes and advising clients clearly on how those changes affect them within one week.
Quality & Standards: Deliver work that is technically accurate, precise, and consistent with established standards — even in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Billables: Managing your time effectively in a consulting environment, with a target of 75% billable utilisation.
The Opportunity for You
We are looking for someone who values clear expectations, professional judgement, and high standards. In this role, you will:
Client Impact: Deliver accurate, professional HR advice that genuinely helps businesses.
Manage the Pace: Coordinate multiple client matters and competing priorities without letting things slip.
Get Stuck In: Take ownership of your work, show initiative, and lead scopes of work rather than waiting for instruction.
Requirements
Experience: 3–5 years' experience in HR, including advisory or consulting experience (Essential).
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (Essential).
Certification: Professional HR certification (e.g. AHRI, CIPD, SHRM) (Essential).
Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, NES, and modern awards.
Local Knowledge: Experience with the Western Australian industrial relations system (Highly Desirable ).
Licence: Valid WA Driver's Licence for visiting clients (Essential).
