Kingfisher Recruitment have been engaged by an investment bank to help appoint an internal project delivery/construction specialist. The purpose of this role is to ensure the organisations investment in major new developments is sound and well considered from a delivery risk perspective.
This role does not include the origination of deal flow. Once a new opportunity for investment is identified by others, you will become involved in early stages to assess the risks associated with physical project delivery, ensuring these are well researched and clearly defined.
This will include review of projects timelines, construction costs and budgets, planning risk and market risk based on product type being proposed. You will also review and advise on the project procurement methodology, including advising on the proposed consultant team and contractors/builders/delivery partners.
Once an investment mandate has occurred and projects are underway, you will monitor cost drawdowns with external consultants during delivery. You will also have oversight of ensuring project feasibility and expected yields are maintained.
This role will suit an individual who has worked within a building organisation at some point in your career, together with having overseen the delivery of a large portfolio of new build projects. Exposure to the initiation of new projects and possibly having worked within the delivery team of a development organisation, or represented a developer's interests, will be well regarded.
An eye for detail and the willingness to roll your sleeves up is critical for the success of this role. The organisation will rely on your expertise and ability to dig deep to ensure protection of it's investment endeavours.
