Occupational Therapist in Aged Care
We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to deliver high-quality resident-focused services in our aged care facility in Albany.
About the Role
In this position, you will conduct assessments, goal setting and equipment prescription to support residents in achieving their goals and maintaining independence.
You will work closely with residents and their families, supervising therapy assistants and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
The ideal candidate will have current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist, with experience in aged care desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct thorough assessments to determine individual capabilities and preferences of residents.
* Support residents in achieving their goals while maximising their functional capacity for daily activities.
* Prescribe aids and equipment as needed to promote resident independence.
* Maintain effective communication with residents, their families and the multidisciplinary team.
* Supervise and support therapy assistants to ensure high-quality care.
* Address concerns and requests of residents' families and other caregivers promptly and professionally.
