Primary objective
Provide a diverse range of administrative and secretarial support to Protocol NT offering procurement, project specific work and
general administrative service support.
Context statement
Protocol NT enhances the reputation of the Northern Territory and its stakeholders through facilitating the interaction of Northern
Territory Government officials with a broad range of local, national and international protocol and ceremonial requirements.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide administrative and secretarial support including the procurement of goods and services, payment of invoices in line
with government policy.
2. Day to day management of meeting rooms on behalf of CM&C, including coordination of the room booking system and
oversight of the management and presentation of the meeting rooms.
3. Assist the Strategic Communications and Engagement team (SCE) with one-off tasks as agreed with the Operations Manager,
Protocol NT.
4. Undertake a broad range of administrative support activities including answering calls and routine inquiries, overseeing
maintenance of office equipment and managing stationery supplies
1. Assist at Ministerial Hosted events as required, noting these activities may occur outside regular work hours.
2. Assist with day-to-day tasks as required including the delivery or collection of items from Ministerial Suites.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. High degree of professional integrity, with the ability to negotiate in sensitive matters where discretion and confidentiality is
required.
2. Experience in administrative procedures and systems including high level competency in Microsoft Word, financial
management, corporate reporting and records management systems such as (TRM, EIMS, ECMS, TRIPS)
1. Ability to work with limited supervision, setting priorities and meeting deadlines while working as part of a team to provide a
client focussed service.
4. Well-developed oral and written communication skills and able to communicate effectively.
5. Working knowledge and understanding of the Financial Management Act, procurement and travel processes and relevant
Northern Territory legislation or the ability to acquire it.
6. Preparedness to work outside core business hours and extended hours as required.
7. Current Driver's License.
