Community Engagement Electorate Officer (EOA)
The office of Trish Cook MP is seeking applications for a full-time, ongoing Community Engagement Electorate Officer (Electorate Officer A) based in the Bullwinkel Electorate Office in Kalamunda, WA.
Position Overview
This position will support the Member with parliamentary work, constituent work and engagements. The role will involve frequent travel within the electorate and irregular work hours.
The Member is seeking an enthusiastic person with strong analytical, communication and organisational skills to join the team as a Community Engagement Electorate Officer, with the responsibility of providing support and advice on work relating to electorate matters.
Key Duties
* Respond to constituent enquiries (in-person, phone and email).
* Assist the Member to maintain a strong presence among the Bullwinkel electorate.
* Research solutions and liaise with Government agencies and stakeholders as needed to resolve matters in a timely and effective manner.
* Develop and maintain relationships with community organisations and volunteers.
* Regular interstate and Canberra travel may be required for this role, with irregular work hours.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal applicant should possess the following skills, qualifications, and experience:
* Promote, support and maintain a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace culture.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to accurately track, follow up and follow-through with community enquiries, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to work as part of a team, under time constraints and strict deadlines with minimal supervision.
* Prior political experience is preferred but not essential; however an interest in and understanding of the local political environment is required.
* Demonstrated professional integrity and the ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
* A respectful demeanor when engaging with office staff and constituents.
Employment Conditions
A commencing salary between $74,537 and $78,911 will be negotiated depending on experience and relevant skills.
An additional optional allowance may be considered in recognition of, and as compensation for, reasonable additional hours of work and any travel requirements.
Note the above salary and allowance will be received an increase of 3.4% from 5 August 2026.
Relocation assistance, studies assistance and paid study leave may also be available (subject to eligibility requirements).
An employer superannuation contribution of 15.4% will be payable.
Other Conditions
* An initial probationary period of three months may apply and may be subject to extension.
* The successful applicant may be required to undergo a National Police History Check.
* Staff may be subject to automatic cessation triggers in accordance with Section 14 of the MOP(S) Act.
* The successful applicant will be required to comply with their obligations under the Behaviour Codes and Standards.
