Your new role:
MacKellar is delivering a planned component replacement (PCR) rebuild program across our fleet of Caterpillar 796 Electric Haul Trucks at the Carmichael Mine.
This permanent, site-based opportunity forms part of our maintenance team, working a 7/7 rotating day and night roster. You will play a key role in safely and efficiently executing major component rebuilds and planned maintenance activities across the haul truck fleet.
Key responsibilities include:
* Performing inspections, component removal, disassembly, rebuild and installation of major components as part of the PCR program
* Conducting post-rebuild testing, commissioning and system validation to ensure equipment reliability
* Completing all planned maintenance and rebuild tasks within required timeframes and cost parameters
* Working collaboratively within the maintenance team to deliver continuous improvement outcomes
* Maintaining strict adherence to safety standards, procedures and site requirements
What you'll need to succeed:
* Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Fitter or Mobile Plant Mechanic with demonstrated post-trade mining experience
* Previous exposure to Caterpillar equipment, ideally Caterpillar 796 Electric Haul Trucks
* Experience within a Caterpillar dealership environment, electric haul truck maintenance, or PCR rebuild programs highly regarded
* Current Standard 11
* Current Driver's Licence
* Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic and fault-finding capability
* Commitment to safe work practices and preventative maintenance principles
