About the Role
An established and award-winning Commercial Construction company is seeking a highly motivated Lead Estimator to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a range of unique commercial projects from $500K to $15M and to be mentored and supported by senior management while building your estimating career.
Key Responsibilities
* Read and interpret specifications, drawings, and contract documentation
* Prepare accurate BOQs and cost estimates for tender submissions
* Prepare and issue trade packages; liaise with and obtain subcontractor quotations
* Report to Directors and present tenders for internal review
* Identify competitive advantages to incorporate into tenders
* Manage multiple tenders, meeting tight deadlines and managing workload effectively
* Manage and support a small team of Estimators, supporting their growth in the industry.
Skills & Experience
* Minimum 5 years commercial construction estimating experience in the Australian market
* Construction qualification or Building Trade/Cert IV
* Proficient in Cubit Estimating or similar estimating software
* Experience in hard dollar tendering
* Sound knowledge of building techniques and construction methods
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong time management, organization, and multi-tasking abilities
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
