About the Role
The Planning Services team has an opportunity for an experienced Statutory Planner to make their next career step in a newly created Senior Planner role. This role offers a unique experience to develop your planning skills within a booming growth Council in the northern Perth corridor.
Responsibilities
* Process development applications and subdivision referrals within statutory timeframes.
* Process structure plans and scheme amendment proposals within statutory timeframes.
* Prepare high‐quality reports based on required standards for Council, JDAP and DRP.
* Provide support to team members as required.
* Respond to customer queries in a timely manner and in accordance with City values.
* Exercise delegation on planning applications in accordance with the City's Delegated Authority Register.
* Guide and mentor planners and manage their workloads.
About You
* Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline such as Urban and Regional Planning.
* Relevant experience in a similar role is desirable.
* In‐depth knowledge and experience in the application of planning legislation.
* High level working knowledge of complex land‐use management issues and ability to analyse and resolve competing priorities with minimal guidance.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, client focus, effective communication skills.
* Advanced organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
* Strong report writing skills.
* C Class Driver's Licence.
