Contract Management Specialist - Kerbside Services

This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of contracted waste services to the Hume community.
Main Responsibilities:
* Lead the delivery of allocated contracted services, maintaining service continuity, achieving service standards, and providing quality customer service.
* Manage contracts, including specification development, tendering, contract negotiation, report writing, and contract administration.
* Support the implementation of strategic actions and targets from the Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy 2022-2030.
* Ensure timely delivery of departmental actions from the Business Plan.
* Foster a safety-centric culture, ensuring employees comply with Occupational Health and Safety legislation and policies.
* Participate in recruitment, induction, and training of Waste Contracts group employees.
* Support budget development, providing accurate estimates for contracted services expenditure.
* Monitor financial performance, providing forecasts, projections, and financial reports.
* Provide high-quality reports, presentations, and advice to stakeholders.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Demonstrated contract management and administration skills, with experience managing long-term service contracts in a local government environment.
* Experience in developing tender specifications and contract documentation.
* Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, with experience in report writing and contract preparation.
* Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
* Experience with procurement and contracted service delivery in a local government context.
* Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and policies.
* Knowledge of contemporary resource recovery and waste management practice and legislation.
Certifications and Qualifications:
* Tertiary qualifications in contract management, law, business, or a related discipline, with relevant experience in the field.
