We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join our team. This is a key role supporting our citrus packing operations during the busy season and maintaining our facilities year-round.
About the Role
This position offers variety and responsibility, working across both planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support.
* Citrus Packing Season (June – September): Flexible 7-day roster, 24/7 operation.
* Off Season (October – May): Standard Mon–Fri, 6:00am – 2:30pm.
You will work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure plant reliability, efficiency, and safety.

Key Responsibilities
* Undertake preventative maintenance on plant and equipment.
* Respond to breakdowns, diagnose issues, and restore production safely and efficiently.
* Report plant operational and safety concerns and contribute to corrective actions.
* Maintain workshop, tools, and equipment in a safe and orderly condition.
* Ensure all maintenance work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards, with no foreign objects or contaminants left in production areas.
* Accurately complete all required forms and registers associated with maintenance tasks.
Skills & Experience
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
* Minimum 5 years' practical experience in maintenance or fitting, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
* Certificate III in Engineering (metal fabrication or machining preferred).
* Strong welding skills (manual arc, MIG, TIG), and experience with plasma and gas cutting.
* Knowledge of conveyors, chains, sprockets, and bearing setup.
* Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical/automation systems.
* Competence with lathe and milling operations.
* Current Driver's Licence and Forklift Licence.
* A strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
* Excellent problem-solving ability, teamwork, and communication skills.
* Strong organisational skills to manage changing priorities and workload.
