We believe that everyone deserves a home that is safe, secure and affordable. We have an opportunity to join our Afterhours Outreach Program in a leadership capacity – lead, coach, and mentor a dedicated team of Case Workers.
You will be joining a supportive, inclusive team, with regular supervision and opportunities for professional development.
The Afterhours Outreach Program operates with teams of two conducting assertive outreach within community in shifts both before and after business hours. The team drive and complete foot patrols in various locations based on referrals and data provided by other stakeholders in the homelessness space, including the Red Cross Homelessness Hub, Community Patrol and the Council. The team offer information and referrals and assess those in particularly vulnerable situations with the possibility of putting them into emergency accommodation if needed.
You will operate from a strengths based and capacity building framework to ensure the promotion of social inclusion, human rights, participation and consumer choice.
What you will bring
* Demonstrated experience in leading a team
* Experience within the community care sector
* Well developed interpersonal skills including excellent communication skills catering for diversity within the team, and with the ability to express ideas clearly, listen effectively and provide feedback constructively
* Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in providing programs to clients from diverse backgrounds and cultures
* Relevant degree with experience in social work or community services or equivalent or less formal qualifications with specialised skills in relevant field
* A current, employee Working with Children Check
