Best Lives (formally Essential Personnel) is a not-for-profit organisation with almost 40 years of experience providing high-quality disability services. Our Employment Buddy Program is designed to help young people develop their job-readiness skills. This initiative is a unique program that combines case management, education, and work experience, which builds skills, confidence, and connections for young people with disability or health conditions.
We are seeking a part-time Youth Program Facilitator on a 6 month contract (Jan - July 26) to deliver training content, provide individualised case management support and assist the young person to develop their skills and succeed in the program and beyond. The Youth Program Facilitator will support the Case Worker to build awareness in the community and advocate for people with disability through networking and securing work experience placements as part of each cohort of the Employment Buddy Program.
To be considered for this position you will need to be highly motivated to assist young people with health conditions or disabilities on an individual and group basis.
Selection Criteria:
* Relevant Training qualification such as Training and Assessment Cert IV, Education Assistance Cert IV or a Teaching qualification is desired, but relevant experience essential.
* In addition, relevant qualifications, such as Community Services or Disability Certificate IV or above is highly desirable.
* Understanding of the labour market, including industry knowledge and recruitment
* Experience in supporting young people with disability, health conditions and vulnerabilities
* Proven group facilitation experience.
* Experience in supporting people to achieve educational outcomes.
* Will be self-driven, resilient, and skilled at effective time management.
* Ability to develop relationships with businesses in the community
* Excellent in team collaboration.
* Be willing to undergo NDIS Worker Screening, police check and WWCC.
* Valid and current driver's licence is essential.
