Aurizon is seeking applications from Qualified Locomotive Drivers to join West Kalgoorlie Rail Operations on a full‐time permanent arrangement. This opportunity is a residential role and open to local applicants that either reside in West Kalgoorlie or are willing to relocate on a permanent basis.
This role will be suited to an individual who is able to display superior teamwork skills, flexibility, a high level of safety awareness and customer service.
About the role
* Operation of locomotives including mainline, shunting and marshalling.
* Examine and certify trains as ready for departure.
* Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures.
* Maintain a high level of on‐time running.
* Prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives.
* Provide high quality customer service to enable Aurizon to meet its set business objectives.
About you
* Strong commitment to safety and the Aurizon Safety Strategy "I Know Safe, I Choose Safe".
* Must be available to work 24/7 shift roster.
* Experience in WA Safeworking System is advantageous.
* Extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience.
* A certificate IV in Rail Operations or equivalent.
* Current unrestricted Class C drivers licence.
