About the role:This position oversees a team with statutory reporting, audit and compliance accountabilities and asset planning and management. This role is critical in ensuring staff and management meet financial accounting obligations and responsibilities.This role is responsible for the day-to-day running of the financial accounting functions of the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service including; month end accounting and reporting, Tri data reporting, year-end accounting and statutoryAbout you:To be successful in this role you must have: Possession of a relevant tertiary qualification such as Accounting/Business/FinanceMembership or working towards membership with a professional accounting body (eg CPA/CAANZ)Technical Knowledge - High level knowledge of and demonstrated ability to apply concepts, policy, procedures, standards, and legislation relevant to financial accounting, asset accounting, taxation and compliance/ audit/Problem Solving - Demonstrated ability to investigate and provide practical recommendations to the Director of Finance and operational staff in relation to financial accounting and administration matters which enhance the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of financial management and administration and contribute to enhanced financial outcomes.
