Position Summary
We’re hiring a Crusher & Ore Sorter Operator to run crushing, screening, conveying and ore sorting systems at a mine site approx. 100km from the Gladstone city.
Oversee daily operations, ensure stable production, inspect equipment, handle material streams, conduct routine checks and report faults.
Prior mining/process plant experience preferred; shift work required; strong safety focus essential.
This role is a key part of the production process and is responsible for ensuring stable feed, proper material sizing, smooth equipment operation, and efficient ore sorting performance. The ideal candidate will have good plant awareness, strong attention to detail, and the ability to identify and respond to operational issues in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate and monitor crushing, screening, conveying, and ore sorter systems
* Maintain consistent feed rates and support the control of material size and flow through the circuit
* Inspect plant equipment and identify issues such as blockages, belt misalignment, abnormal vibration, or poor material movement
* Assist with the management of ore, concentrate, waste, and intermediate material streams
* Carry out routine inspections, cleaning, minor adjustments, and operating checks
* Record production information and report plant performance or faults to supervisors
* Work closely with operators, maintenance personnel, and site management to support continuous operation
* Maintain safe and clean working conditions around the plant area
Requirements
* Previous experience in crushing, screening, process plant operations, ore sorting, or similar industrial environments preferred
* Good understanding of plant operations and material handling systems
* Ability to identify basic mechanical or operational issues and respond appropriately
* Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and operational discipline
* Willingness to work in a mining site environment and adapt to rostered shifts
* Experience with conveyors, crushers, screening systems, or automated equipment will be highly regarded
