Throughout this 2 year traineeship you will be supported by both Melbourne Water and NextGen Jobs to complete a Certificate III in Water Operations while at work.
NextGen Jobs will take care of the recruitment stage, along with your wage and mentoring throughout your traineeship. Melbourne Water will be your place of work, where you experience on-the-job training and structured training, including being involved in:
- Daily operation of the sewerage & water network and treatment systems across Melbourne
- Performing asset isolations and restorations to enable maintenance and capital improvements
- Assist with isolation, shutdown and coordination of servicing for equipment
- Fault finding and assisting with rectification of faults
- Identify danger, hazards or risk exposure for Melbourne Water staff, contractors and public
- Identify emergency situations, implement incident management arrangements
- Demonstrate proactive personal commitment to Health and Safety

- Melbourne Water will be your place of work. You will attend various Melbourne Water sites throughout your traineeship, therefore a driver’s license is required.
- You must have the ability to be part of rostered after-hours availability.
