Ports Engineer Practice Lead Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Ports Engineer to serve as a practice builder and lead our ports practice in the Southeast Region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analysis and design of port structures, excellent business development skills, and experience in managing and motivating staff.
This is a challenging role that requires a high level of expertise in maritime codes and references, including UFC, PIANC, and ASCE-61. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing the ports practice, conducting business development activities, hiring and managing staff, and performing structural analysis and design for marine and upland components.
The Ports Engineer will also be responsible for leading the development of plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates for port projects, as well as mentoring a team of developing port and maritime engineers.
Key Responsibilities
* Serving as a practice builder and growing the SE Region's ports practice
* Conducting ongoing business development activities
* Hiring, managing, and motivating staff
* Independently performing and supervising structural analysis and design for marine and upland components
* Leading development of plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates for a variety of port projects
Requirements
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
* Minimum 10 years of experience in analysis and design of port structures
* Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Florida
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
