This role reports directly to the IT Operations Manager at Ignite Travel Group and works closely with the security team at Ignite Travel's parent company, Flight Centre Travel Group.
A day in the life:
* Security Monitoring & Incident Response: Monitor and respond to security alerts with our security partner.
* Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and help create and execute incident response plans.
* Vulnerability Management: Run regular scans on systems and applications.
* Prioritize and fix vulnerabilities based on risk; work with IT teams to patch and update systems.
* Security Policy & Compliance: Support the management and enforcement of security policies.
* Help ensure compliance with standards and regulations, providing security guidance and awareness to teams.
* Security Architecture: Assist in designing and implementing security controls; review new projects for security risks and offer solutions.
* Security Awareness Training: Create and deliver training to boost cybersecurity awareness and improve employee readiness through simulations.
Who you are:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
* Proven experience in cyber security roles, with a focus on security monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management.
* Strong understanding of network security, encryption, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
* Knowledge of security frameworks, standards, and regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).
* Familiarity with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, antivirus, and endpoint protection.
* Certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or GIAC are a plus.
