About The Role
Blue Mountains Grammar School (BMGS) is seeking a Junior School Sports Teacher to deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate sport and physical activity lessons across our two Junior School campuses at Wentworth Falls and Springwood. The role focuses on the physical sports component of the Junior School PDHPE program, supporting students to develop fundamental movement skills, confidence in physical activity, and positive attitudes towards teamwork and healthy lifestyles.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate sports lessons aligned with the Junior School PDHPE syllabusTeach fundamental movement skills and sport-specific skills across a range of sporting disciplinesFoster student participation, teamwork, resilience, and positive sportsmanshipSupport the physical development, wellbeing, and confidence of students through inclusive and safe sporting activitiesAssist in the organisation and delivery of Junior School sporting programs, events, and carnivals where requiredMaintain a safe learning environment, ensuring appropriate supervision and adherence to safety and risk management practicesWork collaboratively with Junior School staff to support the broader wellbeing and development of studentsContribute positively to the life of the Junior School and wider school community
Requirements
Demonstrated experience teaching sport or PDHPE in a primary school settingExperience developing students’ fundamental movement skills across a range of activities and sportsExperience or confidence in delivering gymnastics or movement-based skill development programs (desirable)NESA accreditation to teach in NSWA relevant teaching qualification recognised in AustraliaFull Australian work rightsCurrent Working With Children CheckA willingness to support the values and ethos of an independent Christian school
