The Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Carpenter to join our dynamic maintenance team at the Howard Springs Defense Accommodation Precinct, working on projects for the Northern Territory Government.
This role is ideal for a skilled professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in high-quality craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Reading and interpreting drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Measuring, cutting, and assembling wood and other materials with precision.
Installing structures and fixtures, including windows, doors, flooring, cabinetry, and other carpentry elements.
Repairing, renovating, and maintaining existing structures to ensure their safety and functionality.
Operating a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
Ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards, following safety regulations and company policies.
Collaborating with team members and supervisors to complete projects on time and within scope.
Troubleshooting and problem-solving issues that arise on-site.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Certificate III in Carpentry (or equivalent qualification).
A minimum of 2 years of carpentry experience in a similar role.
Your own set of carpentry tools.
A current driver's license and reliable transportation.
A valid Construction White Card.
The ability to work flexible hours, including after-hours and weekends if required.
A methodical, detail-oriented, and thorough approach to work.
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
A strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
Willingness to undergo a National Police Check.
Ability to obtain or currently hold an Ochre Card (Working with Children Clearance).
