Global Vision Recruitment on behalf of Erindale Cakery Bakery Date Posted: 17th March 2026 Position: Bakery Manager Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 per annum plus 12% Superannuation Hours: 38 hours per week Mode: Full Time Location: Erindale Shopping Centre, 50 Comrie St, Wanniassa ACT 2903 Experience required: Minimum 1 year of management or supervisory experience in a bakery, café, or food service environment About the Business Erindale Cakery Bakery is a well-established, family-owned Canberra bakery known for its award-winning breads, cakes, pastries, pies and specialty baked goods made fresh on-site. The bakery has built a strong reputation in the local community for its traditional baking methods, creative cake designs, and wide range of savoury and sweet products prepared daily.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Bakery Manager to lead daily operations, maintain high product standards, and ensure our customers continue to enjoy the quality and service the bakery is known for. Key Responsibilities The Bakery Manager will oversee the day-to-day running of the bakery while supporting production, customer service, and business performance.

* Manage and coordinate daily bakery operations including production schedules, product display, and service standards.
* Work closely with bakers and pastry staff to ensure a consistent supply of fresh breads, pies, cakes, pastries, and specialty items prepared on-site.
* Monitor product quality, presentation, and freshness to maintain the bakery’s reputation for high-quality baked goods.
* Plan the bakery’s product range, including seasonal items such as specialty cakes, hot cross buns, sourdough varieties, and promotional baked goods.
* Manage ingredient purchasing and supplier relationships to ensure reliable supply of flour, dairy, fillings, packaging, and other bakery essentials.
* Maintain appropriate stock levels while minimising waste and ensuring efficient inventory control.
* Develop pricing strategies, promotional offers, and in-store merchandising to increase sales and highlight specialty bakery items.
* Oversee custom cake orders and coordinate with customers regarding design, flavour selections, and production timelines.
* Ensure high standards of customer service by assisting customers with product recommendations and responding to inquiries or feedback.
* Maintain accurate records of stock movement, daily sales, and financial transactions.
* Assist with budgeting, cost management, and monitoring the bakery’s financial performance.
* Recruit, train, roster, and supervise bakery and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient team performance.
* Foster a positive team culture and ensure staff follow operational procedures and quality standards.
* Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations.
* Identify opportunities to introduce new baked products, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen the bakery’s presence in the local community.

Qualifications

* Certificate IV, Diploma, or higher qualification in Hospitality, Bakery/Patisserie, Business Management, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

Skills and Experience

* Minimum 1 year of management or supervisory experience in a bakery, café, or food service environment.
* Strong knowledge of bakery operations and production workflows.
* Experience managing staff, rostering, and team development.
* Strong customer service and communication skills.
* Ability to manage stock, suppliers, and cost control effectively.
* Understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards in a commercial kitchen.
* Passion for baked goods, customer service, and maintaining high product quality.
