The role
We're looking for a commercially minded Financial Controller who thrives on connecting numbers to operations. You'll partner with the CFO and operational leaders to sharpen cost visibility, improve decision-making, and support investment choices, all whilst keeping the engine room running (close, payroll oversight, controls).

What you'll focus on
* Monthly, quarterly and annual reporting in line with Australian Accounting Standards
* Month-end / half-year / year-end close and coordination of external audit
* Tax compliance (BAS, PAYG, payroll and income tax) and ASIC annual return support
* Oversight of AP/AR, cashflow/treasury, general ledger integrity and asset register
* Weekly payroll oversight for a 550–600-person workforce, including audit checks to prevent errors
* Budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, KPI reporting and financial modelling
* Lead, mentor and develop the finance team; uplift systems, processes and documentation
What we're looking for
* CA or CPA qualified (or progressing) with 5+ years' progressive finance experience
* Strong technical accounting and compliance capability plus commercial acumen
* Advanced Excel (modelling, pivots, complex formulas) and ERP/finance systems experience
* Confident stakeholder communicator who can translate numbers into action
* High integrity, strong attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset
Highly regarded: agriculture/primary production exposure, multi-site operations, seasonal workforce payroll familiarity (incl. PALM), regional QLD experience.
