The Kitchen Assistant role is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of professionals in a school setting.
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be responsible for:
1. Inventory Management: Coordinate the purchasing and storage of ingredients as instructed.
2. Preparation: Prepare ingredients ahead of class time to ensure smooth lessons.
3. Cleaning and Organisation: Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising work surfaces.
4. Purchasing and Resource Management: Purchase and organise ingredients and resources for practical classes.
5. Setup and Packdown: Set up and pack down kitchen workspaces and equipment.
6. Support and Guidance: Support students and teachers during practical lessons.
7. Hygiene and Safety: Monitor hygiene and safety practices in line with WHS guidelines and Food Safe practices.
8. Equipment and Supplies: Purchase equipment and supplies for the TAS department.
9. Administrative Tasks: Perform basic administration and clerical tasks.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in an educational or school setting.
* Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
