Project Overview
Bechtel helps customers deliver projects of purpose that create a lasting positive legacy globally. The Eva Copper Mine Project, a greenfield resource in Cloncurry, is set to become the largest new mine in Queensland, Australia. Bechtel is delivering the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope for the Eva Copper Process Plant and non‑process infrastructure.
Job Summary
The Concrete and Batch Plant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing direct‑hire and contractor activities on the Eva Copper Process Plant site. The role monitors construction operations and contractor performance to ensure compliance with project ES&H, quality, and schedule requirements. The position operates on a FIFO 2:1 roster to North Queensland.
Major Responsibilities
* Coordinate performance of the site Batch Plant contractors, project status, schedule, cost control, and change‑management systems.
* Plan and forecast deliveries of materials to the site and daily concrete production requirements in support of project schedules.
* Monitor compliance of direct hire and sub‑contractors with specifications, ES&H plans, quality standards, and regulatory safety codes.
* Coordinate performance of the installation contractors, project status, schedule, cost control, and change‑management systems.
* Assist execution of other concrete construction work fronts through review of look‑ahead schedules, commodity charts, resource charts, engineering deliverables, and material delivery schedules.
* Review and approve subcontractors' submittals, technical queries, field change documents, drawings, and As‑Builts.
* Maintain effective relationships with functional departments and coordinate all job‑site contractual activities.
* Monitor interfaces with other work groups.
Education And Experience Requirements
* Preferably a recognized degree in an engineering discipline or minimum 10 years of experience in civil and concrete works on industrial plants.
* Minimum 10 years of experience in construction projects in a contractor or PMC role.
Required Knowledge And Skills
* Experience with large reinforced concrete construction pours.
* Thorough knowledge of applicable standards, specifications, codes, and safety procedures.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to maintain a positive work environment among clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
* Self‑motivated and able to work independently while exercising professional judgment and providing technical leadership.
* Demonstrated knowledge of complex formwork systems and installation processes on similar projects.
