AO3 Housing Officer required for a Government Department, based in Cairns, QLD

They are currently seeking an AO3 Housing Officer to join a full-time temporary contract. The experienced candidate will form part of a dedicated team for 1 month with the possibility of extending, based in Cairns, QLD.
Your new role
As the AO3 Housing Officer, your role will encompass basic office administration as well as supporting the team.
- Work collaboratively to respond to customers, undertake customer interviews, make referrals to support service agencies, assess new housing and bond loan applications and rental grants.
- Manage tenancy arrangements, allocations and vacancies, liaising with the community and other housing providers and ensure departmental compliance.
- Conduct home visits to properties and investigate and facilitate the resolution of any tenancy disputes and complaints, as well as manage the maintenance of properties and conduct property inspections.
- Monitor and manage outstanding arrears, rent assessments, pay deductions and refunds and actioning sundry debts and collections as required.
- Use Microsoft products and other IT systems to maintain accurate customer and property records and file notes with a high level of accuracy and work output.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have the below skill set –
- Excellent keyboard skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite are a must.
- Demonstrated general administration skills
- Experienced in data entry into spreadsheets, worked with basic Excel formulas, Content Manager or other Records Management Systems
- Microsoft Sharepoint Share Point Sites, MS Teams sites, MS Mailboxes
- Must have an eye for detail and accuracy in data entry
