About the role
As a Journalist at Star News Group, you will play a crucial role in producing high-quality content that informs and engages our local community. Working in our Warwick, QLD office, you will research, write, and edit compelling stories across a range of subjects, from breaking news to feature pieces. What you'll be doing
1. Researching and investigating news stories within your local community
2. Conducting interviews and gathering information from a variety of sources
3. Writing clear, accurate, and engaging news articles and feature pieces
4. Editing and proofreading content to ensure it meets our high standards
5. Collaborating with the editorial team to develop and execute content strategies
6. Meeting tight deadlines and adapting quickly to changing news priorities
7. Maintaining a social media presence to promote your work
What we're looking for
1. Relevant degree or qualification in journalism, communications, or a related field, including soon or recently graduated applicants.
2. Demonstrated experience in news reporting and feature writing
3. Strong research, interviewing, and fact-checking skills
4. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
5. Familiarity with the local community and regional news landscape
6. Proficiency in using content management systems and social media platforms
7. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
