The butchers assistant would need to work independently to fill and maintain the meat window display, serve customers, keep the work area neat and tidy, work with the owner in regards to ordering and will be required to serve customers on the checkout when busy.
- Person does NOT need to be a qualified Butcher position would suit a retired butcher or someone who has worked with food prep previously who is willing to learn new skills.
- Food Prep & food safety experience essential, training will be provided on our exact procedures but a basic level of understanding required
- Basic meat prep, traying up of meat / poultry / fish products, cutting of steaks, cutting of fish, cleaning up French cutlets, marinating chicken, preparing satays, using the mincer, preparing snitzels, preparing chicken Kiev, tray up sausages, slice ham on the slicer etc....
- Heavy lifting of meat boxes involved so must be physically fit.
- Attention to detail is important as the look and freshness of our meat display is an absolute priority.
- Will need to use the Band Saw so experience in this or be willing to learn is essential.
- Customer service experience essential you will need to interact with customers regarding their purchases so good communication skills are required
- Part time hours approx 25 + hrs per week Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. May also need to work Public Holidays as they arise. **NOTE if the right person needs more hours there are other areas in our business where work may be available**:
- Will need to be able to serve on the checkout to finalise purchases or as required
Will be working as part of a small team so finding the right person who is willing to learn and work with us is very important.
