Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and building the underlying technology stack that powers our stores.
You will work closely with our software engineers to help glue infrastructure and software together, apply software engineering and SRE principles while leveraging infrastructure automation tools to build, maintain, monitor and operate complex infrastructure.
As a trusted engineer, you will participate in our on-call rotation, diagnose and problem-solve issues on the platform, provide support to the Engineering and Customer Support teams, and drive issues to completion in high-pressure situations.
* Apply software engineering and SRE principles while leveraging infrastructure automation tools to build, maintain, monitor and operate complex infrastructure.
* Work closely with your peers to expand your knowledge and understanding of the technologies used in the platform.
* Take initiative and work beyond the scope of a task to improve existing systems and code.
* 6+ years of experience in building software for, operating and supporting large Linux based web application environments.
* A trusted engineer who has completed either a comprehensive software engineering boot camp, CS, CE, SW, MIS or equivalent degree, or has relevant work experience.
* An excellent communicator, who works well with geographically distributed teams.
* Experienced with Linux systems administration, including solid scripting skills in Ruby, PHP, Python or Bash.
* Experienced with running Docker with container orchestration systems such as Nomad, Kubernetes, Amazon ECS or Google GKE.
* Experienced with database, document storage and object storage systems.
