Overview
We are seeking applications from enthusiastic and professional Teachers Assistant with a record of best practice to fulfill a Permanent Full-Time position within our Indigenous Education team commencing April 2026.
The successful candidate must have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and be familiar with supporting the educational needs of Indigenous students from both local and remote communities. Cultural awareness is a must, and you will need to be able to communicate appropriately, both verbally and non-verbally, with Indigenous staff, students and their families.
All candidates need to be able to use Microsoft packages including word; excel; outlook; and must be able to quickly learn other school-based computer packages.

Responsibilities
The Teaching Assistant role supports the Indigenous Education team and contributes to a safe, inclusive learning environment. Responsibilities may include supporting Indigenous students in their educational needs, assisting with classroom activities, and collaborating with staff to promote literacy, numeracy and core skills in line with school programs. The role requires the ability to adapt to different year levels and to communicate respectfully with students, families and staff.
Qualifications
• Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and familiarity with the educational needs of Indigenous students from local and remote communities.
• Cultural awareness and the ability to communicate appropriately, both verbally and non-verbally, with Indigenous staff, students and families.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the ability to quickly learn other school-based computer packages.
