Job Description
This role is responsible for the operational execution of the buying strategy for Country Road WW - Urban. It ensures that product assortments meet financial, customer, and brand objectives through close collaboration with the Buying Manager, design, planning, and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Serve as the voice and advocate for the customer, conducting market research to understand trends and inform buying decisions.
2. Build a compelling and differentiated product assortment that resonates with target customers in terms of quality, style, price point, and perceived value.
3. Proactively seek and suggest opportunities to improve the product range to drive financial performance and sales.
4. Deliver product assortments that meet category/channel goals, ensuring they meet all margin KPIs and maximize sales.
5. Conduct seasonal reviews and analyze product performance, reviewing best and worst sellers, styles, and colors.
6. Manage trading plans to drive sales and in-season performance, optimize supplier relationships, and meet margin targets.
7. Oversee revenue, inventory, and profit of categories through trend identification, buying/assortment planning, and category management.
Key Capabilities
1. 3+ years of experience in buying or merchandising with a successful track record in a fast-paced retail environment.
2. Strategic thinking and ability to develop and execute buying strategies aligned with business goals.
3. Strong understanding of financial metrics such as revenue, margin, and inventory management.
4. Data-driven approach to understanding customer preferences and creating resonant product assortments.
5. Proven expertise in costing, margin analysis, and trading to set profitable assortments.
