FORWAARD Aboriginal Corporation is seeking an Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Case Manager to join our passionate and dedicated team. FORWAARD supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in reconnecting with their families and community following drug and/or alcohol-related difficulties through our holistic, culturally safe, and person- and community-centered programs and supports.
In this position of AOD Case Manager, you will be required to connect with and support a primarily Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander caseload in a culturally appropriate, person-centered manner to assist them in overcoming substance dependency through FORWAARD's recovery programs.
Your primary objective is to provide clients with a safe and supportive opportunity to identify and address issues/challenges resulting from their experiences. This corresponds excellent rapport-building skills, effective and appropriate intercultural communication, a high level of case management skills, and an empathetic and compassionate approach to support. Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is essential to success in this role, as is a Certificate IV or greater qualification in AOD.
