Due to growth, we are seeking a Draftsperson to join their team. As a key member of the fire protection design and drafting team, you will be responsible for providing effective project and technical solutions, designs and modelling for a range of building / fire protection projects including commercial, retail and industrial buildings. You will also be involved in building strong stakeholder relationships and contributing to the internal growth of the team.
The role
- Develop designs and modelling for various fire service systems
- Produce working drawings and plans
- Process purchase orders to our suppliers for materials
- Assist the with any designs / structural engineering enquiries as required
- Carry out compliance audits and assessments
What we're looking for
- Experience working in building services / fire sprinklers – fire systems design favourable but not essential
- Qualifications in engineering, drafting or building services discipline favourable
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Experience designing fire sprinkler systems, hydrants / water tanks / piping and some hydraulics projects
- Past experience using Revit / AutoCAD on local projects preferred
- Experience with fabrication sheets useful
- Knowledge and experience using Australian codes and standards
- Good all‑round communication skills
- Experience preparing and producing fabrication sheets helpful but not essential
- Some prior knowledge of the Australian Standards and local authority requirements
- Strong adherence to and awareness of Australian safety standards
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver’s licence
