The Opportunity:

Do you love working outdoors? We have opportunities to join our Hardwood Plantation Division as a Forestry Worker in Grafton which will see you performing a variety of field-based tasks in the great outdoors. You will also be part of the organization's fire readiness strategy.

About the role:

To ensure that forest operations, including road maintenance, pest animal and weed control, hazard reduction burning and firefighting are carried out for the Region in a safe, effective and productive manner to established legislative, environmental and safety standards.

We would love you to have/be:

* Experience in bushfire fighting
* Team player with the ability to work extended hours
* Experience and / or qualifications in off-road driving, chainsaw use and chemical application
* First aid qualification
* Truck licence (MR.)
* Relevant qualification in Forestry Management or Natural Resource Management or basic TAFE will also be considered.

Depending on the role the preferred candidate will be required to satisfactorily complete a Drug and Alcohol screening, and/or Medical Assessment and/or a Fire Task Based Assessment (TBA).

For roles requiring, the successful candidate(s) must be fit to perform firefighting activities, which may include working in smoky conditions and the ability to be physically active in uneven or steep terrain. Offers of employment for these roles are subject to the results of the pre-employment Medical Assessment which may preclude candidates high risk conditions from being able to meet the inherent requirements of the role.
