Task & responsibilities
* Develop menus that reflect the restaurant's modern Australian style using seasonal and local produce.
* Calculate ingredient needs, preparation times, and staffing requirements to support efficient service.
* Manage ordering, stock levels, and rotation to ensure high quality and minimise waste.
* Oversee dish preparation and presentation to maintain consistency, flavour, and visual standards.
* Work with management and the team on dietary requirements, menu adjustments, and service coordination.
* Provide guidance to kitchen staff by demonstrating techniques and supporting their development.
* Prepare and cook dishes during service with precision and consistency.
* Ensure all hygiene, food safety, and workplace health regulations are followed.
* Assist with selecting, training, and developing kitchen staff when required.
* Manage correct handling, storage, and preservation of food items to maintain freshness and efficiency.
Qualification & experience
* We are seeking a qualified Chef holding a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and a Diploma of Hospitality Management or relevant qualifications.
* A minimum of one year of full time experience in a fast paced restaurant environment is required.
* You must be confident working under pressure and maintaining high standards during busy service periods.
* Strong skills in preparing and cooking a variety of dishes and managing kitchen workflows are essential.
* You must demonstrate reliability, strong communication, and the ability to work well within a team.
* Experience supporting or supervising junior staff is highly regarded.
* A solid understanding of food safety, hygiene requirements, and professional kitchen standards is required.
* Weekend and public holiday availability is required to support consistent kitchen operations during peak service periods.
