Want to bring ideas to life? You're in the right place. At Aurecon, we create places and infrastructure that shape cities, communities, and the way people experience the built environment. Our façade team sits at the intersection of architecture, performance, sustainability, and innovation - and plays a critical role in delivering design‐led solutions across some of our most exciting projects. How will your ideas contribute to shaping what's next? We're looking for a Façades Engineer to join our growing Buildings team in Victoria or South Australia. This role is ideal for a consulting façade engineer who enjoys early‐stage design, problem‐solving, and close collaboration with architects and multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop façade engineering designs, including schematic design, performance strategies, and technical specifications.
* Collaborate closely with architects, building services engineers, and structural teams to develop integrated design outcomes.
* Contribute to early‐stage façade design thinking, including material selection, performance intent, thermal and environmental considerations.
* Support design reviews, options analysis, and technical input across a range of building typologies.
* See projects through construction delivery to completion via design review and site inspections.
* Apply façade engineering principles to deliver sustainable, buildable, and high‐performing building envelopes.
* Work within Aurecon's multidisciplinary project teams, learning from senior technical leaders and specialists.
Qualifications
* 3–7 years' experience in façade engineering, ideally within a consulting environment.
* Strong understanding of front‐end / design‐stage façade engineering, rather than shop drawing detailing.
* Experience working collaboratively with architects and design teams.
* Familiarity with common façade engineering tools and workflows.
* Experience and expertise in digital workflows – a strong benefit.
* Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance is required, due to the nature of the work.
* Technically confident, curious, and keen to develop depth in façade engineering.
* Comfortable forming and articulating technical viewpoints.
* Self‐sufficient and able to manage tasks independently within a design environment.
* Interested in innovation, sustainability, and emerging digital design approaches.
Benefits
* Clear opportunities to deepen your specialisation in façade engineering or broaden your skill set into design management, sustainability or digital engineering, depending on your interests.
* Strong technical leadership, mentoring and collaborative design culture.
* Support for flexible and hybrid working arrangements, allowing you to balance high‐quality technical work with life outside of work.
