The Role
We are supporting a large consultancy who are looking for an experienced Appian Lead Developer / Solution Architect to join a growing Business Process Management (BPM) practice.
This is a hands‐on technical leadership role for someone who enjoys working closely with clients, shaping solutions, and taking accountability for delivery quality end to end. You will act as the primary technical point of contact on engagements, leading solution design, guiding development teams, and ensuring successful outcomes.
The role suits a senior Appian practitioner who values technical craft, enjoys client‐facing work, and wants to contribute to the growth and maturity of a BPM capability.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the primary technical lead on client engagements, working closely with stakeholders to shape and deliver Appian solutions
* Design, architect, and deliver end‐to‐end Appian solutions across the full SDLC
* Lead and mentor Appian developers, including code reviews, standards setting, and quality assurance
* Drive Agile delivery, including sprint ceremonies, release planning, and UAT coordination
* Design scalable, maintainable Appian architectures across SAIL, process models, records, security, and integrations
* Lead integration design between Appian and enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, cloud services, APIs)
* Contribute to the development of BPM governance standards, best practices, and practice capability
What You'll Need
* Strong hands‐on experience delivering Appian solutions in a consulting or professional services environment
* Proven experience as a client‐facing technical lead
* Deep technical capability across SAIL, Process Modeler, Records, Sites, Rules, and Security
* Strong data skills, including secure data modelling, data fabric, migration, and performance tuning
* Experience designing and implementing integrations using REST, SOAP, and API‐based patterns
* Comfortable across deployments, environments, DevOps practices, and cloud‐based Appian platforms
* Experience working with government or large enterprise clients is advantageous
* Strong communication skills and the ability to lead both technical teams and client conversations
