Senior Project Manager (Property Development) – Fixed Term

A 18‐month opportunity based in Queensland to lead complex property development projects and deliver high‐quality, affordable housing for Community Housing Limited (CHL).

About the Team

The Development and Portfolio Planning team sits within the Homes Division and drives CHL's growth and housing outcomes. Working closely with internal teams, government and industry partners, the team plays a central role in delivering safe, secure and affordable housing while building organisational capability.

The Role

As Senior Project Manager you will own the end‐to‐end delivery of a portfolio of multiple and/or complex development projects. Your responsibilities include full accountability for outcomes across scope, budget, programme, quality and governance, driving project performance and influencing stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes that align with CHL's strategic and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead and own the delivery of multiple and/or complex development projects across the full lifecycle, from feasibility through to construction, handover and defects management.
* Own project budgets and financial performance, including forecasting, cost control, cashflow management and active management of variations and cost pressures.
* Lead contract management activities, including procurement, tendering, negotiations and the management of variations, claims and contractual obligations.
* Manage and coordinate design, consultant, contractor and delivery teams to deliver high‐quality, fit‐for‐purpose housing aligned with CHL's operational, sustainability and asset standards.
* Oversee planning, approvals and statutory processes to ensure compliance with regulatory, funding and contractual requirements.
* Lead delivery across a range of project models, including acquisitions, turnkey and developer‐led projects.
* Drive strong governance, reporting and risk management practices, including proactive identification and escalation of risks and issues.
* Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships across government, internal teams, consultants and delivery partners.
* Mentor and support Project Managers, contributing to capability uplift and continuous improvement across development systems, processes and standards.
What You'll Bring
* Demonstrated experience delivering multiple or complex development projects across the full lifecycle.
* Strong experience in construction delivery, contract management and consultant coordination.
* Proven ability to manage project budgets, risks, programme and compliance requirements.
* Strong stakeholder management skills, including working with government, consultants and contractors.
* Experience operating within structured governance and reporting frameworks.
* Ability to lead, mentor and support Project Managers.
* Strong problem‐solving and decision‐making capability.
* Commitment to delivering high‐quality, fit‐for‐purpose housing outcomes.
