About The Role
At TasNetworks we're enabling the next generation of energy infrastructure—connecting major customers to Tasmania's transmission network and supporting the transition to a sustainable, reliable National Electricity Market. This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of energy transition, commercial leadership, and major infrastructure delivery.
What You'll Do
* Lead and manage large, complex and high‐value transmission connection projects, ensuring delivery against customer, regulatory, technical infrastructure and revenue requirements.
* Take end‐to‐end accountability for the execution and management of complex Connection Agreements, underpinned by rigorous due diligence, performance parameters and sustainable commercial outcomes.
* Design and deliver strategies to onboard new customers into Tasmania's transmission network, supporting organisational targets and long‐term shareholder value.
* Identify, assess and manage significant commercial and project risks and opportunities, developing robust stakeholder relationships, mitigation and improvement strategies.
* Provide expert commercial leadership through the connection application process, including leading negotiations to successfully execute Connection Agreements.
* Build and sustain strong, trusted relationships with customers and stakeholders across the National Electricity Market.
About You
You're a confident senior professional who thrives in complexity and brings a calm, commercial lens to high‐stakes negotiations. You know how to navigate ambiguity, balance competing priorities and drive agreements that deliver value for customers, regulators and the business. Your experience in project delivery and commercial frameworks allows you to confidently lead complex transmission connection arrangements from concept through to execution.
You build credibility quickly and are recognised as a trusted partner by customers and stakeholders. With a collaborative and customer‐centric mindset, you bring people together, ask the right questions and guide diverse groups toward practical, sustainable outcomes – even in fast‐moving or changing environments.
You're analytical and solutions‐focused, able to interpret technical, commercial and regulatory information to support sound decision‐making. You're equally comfortable zooming into detail or stepping back to see the bigger picture, and you communicate clearly and confidently with senior leaders, peers and external partners.
You'll Also Bring
* A practical understanding of the National Electricity Rules, ideally with exposure to large‐scale renewable energy projects and complex generation or load agreements.
* Strong digital capability, including experience with tools such as SAP, SharePoint and the Microsoft Office suite, to support reporting, collaboration and delivery.
What's on Offer
This is a permanent full‐time opportunity based out of either Hobart or Rocherlea, offering an attractive remuneration and benefits package.
We offer an engaging work environment where safety is at the heart of everything we do and a range of employee benefits, including:
* Free onsite car parking
* 20 days of annual leave per year plus an additional 3 days of leave between Christmas and New Year

* Career development – we have our own RTO and can create personalised career pathways in both trade and leadership
