The key duties and responsibilities of this role are:
- Contributing to procurement and contract management activities whilst ensuring compliance with legislation and policy.
- Assisting in the preparation of contracting correspondence and documentation.
- Assisting with the provision of advice relating to procurement, legal, and financial issues.
- Understanding the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and other relevant legislation and policies.
- Building and sustaining productive relationships with stakeholders of various natures.
- Assisting with the assessment of commercially-relevant risks and support implementation of mitigation strategies.
- Preparing appropriate schedules for recurring contracting activities.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Collective Agreement (DECA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. The Commercial Support Coordinator is an integral position within CMS and the successful candidate will find themselves within a supportive team environment.
