SNAP Programs Limited is a leading not-for-profit organisation that provides support services in the Hunter, Newcastle and Central Coast regions. We support children, young people and adults with a disability, and/or who may display challenging behaviors. SNAP Programs Limited offer a wide range of services including SIL, Community Access, Respite, and Camps to name a few, additionally supporting children and young people in out of home care arrangements. The People We Support are our number 1 priority, and this is in everything we do.
We are seeking to employ casual Support Workers who have experience working with children and young people with complex and challenging behaviors. You will be supported by experienced House Managers and Head Office staff who have all adopted the person-centered approach.
We aim to provide a home environment for the people we support, whether they are with us for a few months or a few years.
The Role
* Support services to children and young people in the community and in out of home care environments
* Following the case plans and behavior support plans
* Complete documentations daily
* Behavior management
* Medication management
* Meal preparation
* General housework
Essential Criteria
* Current working with children (or willing to obtain)
* Current NDIS workers clearance (or willing to obtain)
* First aid certificate
* Current driver's license
* Available 3 overnights (per week) and every 2nd weekend
* Caring, honest, reliable and resilient
* Ability to travel between the Hunter, Newcastle and Central Coast as assigned
Desirable Criteria
* Certificate 3 or higher (or willing to obtain)
* Experience working with children with complex and challenging behaviors
