We are seeking passionate and enthusiastic Support Workers to provide support to our clients located on the North Shore and in the Eastern Suburbs.
Our ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that people they are supporting have meaningful engagement with the community in all its forms and ensuring their complex needs are being met.
The role involves providing direct care to clients and performing activities including:
* Personal care;
* Respite (including recreational activities);
* Transporting to/from appointments and day programs;
* Cleaning/domestic assistance;
* Meal preparation;
* Shopping;
* Banking/Bill paying.
Key Requirements:
* Extensive experience in providing direct care to people with complex needs, people with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviours;
* Understanding of Person-Centred plans, Behaviour Support plans and Health Care plans;
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and its implication for clients;
* High levels of enthusiasm, initiative and a positive attitude;
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
* Demonstrated high level communication skills;
* Must have driver's licence, vehicle with comprehensive insurance and willingness to use for work purposes;
* Ability to work flexible hours;
* First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
Desirable Qualifications:
Education in Epilepsy Awareness, relevant qualifications in Disability, Social Services or Nursing, and knowledge and understanding of Jewish values, heritage and culture.
