The role of Civil Infrastructure Manager involves leading the planning, delivery and continuous improvement of civil infrastructure related to roads, drainage, footpaths, bridges, car parks, cycleways and associated assets.
This includes delivering operational and capital works programs, maintenance, renewal and upgrade projects for civil infrastructure, ensuring timely implementation of actions within relevant strategies and plans.
The successful candidate will oversee asset management functions related to civil infrastructure, develop and implement road safety network management and civil maintenance strategies.
They will engage collaboratively with key stakeholders and the community, manage Local Area Traffic Management functions, ensure compliance with safety, environmental and planning responsibilities regarding quarry operations and materials production.
Maintaining compliance with Chain of Responsibility requirements is also a key aspect of the role, as well as ensuring environmental management obligations are met across all civil operations.
The position involves identifying and maximising opportunities for grant funding to support the renewal and improvement of civil infrastructure, fostering cross-organisational collaboration to support integrated planning, asset management work programming, resource allocation and construction activities.
Leading, mentoring and coaching the Civil Operations division to deliver high-quality outcomes and exceptional service is also an essential responsibility.
A tertiary degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification is required, along with Professional Engineer's Registration or eligibility to obtain registration.
Substantial experience in local government operations context, background in civil engineering, road and pavement design, extensive leadership experience and excellent communication skills at all levels are highly desirable.
