About the role
The Category Editor - Health & Beauty is responsible for developing, commissioning and delivering health and beauty content across all platforms, including print, digital, social, video and other media channels.
This is a 12-month parental leave contract with a view to start in late February ****.
This role drives the content plan for the category, generating ideas, building engaging features and producing bespoke executions that connect with audiences wherever they consume content.
A key part of the role involves building strong industry and commercial relationships to ensure relevant, exclusive and market-leading content.
The Category Editor will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to produce editorial and advertiser-led content across multiple touchpoints, including features, digital articles, video, social executions and contributions to broader initiatives such as events and television segments.
Duties
Lead end-to-end content creation and conceptualisation, including forward planning, commissioning, briefing, writing, proofing and building bespoke content across print, digital, social and EDM channels.Source and manage content inputs such as product call-ins, image references and publisher extracts, working closely with freelancers, PR and external partners.Proactively pitch commercial content ideas and deliver tailored, advertiser-led content in collaboration with the commercial team.Present and host content where required, and collaborate on brand extensions including events, TV segments and digital video.Build and maintain strong PR and brand relationships, acting as the primary point of contact and ensuring compliance with policies (including gifting).
Stay ahead of lifestyle trends, audience insights and emerging content formats to drive innovative content opportunities.
Skills and experience
Strong writing, editing and commissioning skills across print, digital, social and videoAbility to generate and execute engaging, audience-focused content plansExperience creating bespoke content for both editorial and commercial purposesKnowledge of health, beauty and lifestyle trends with the ability to translate them into contentCommercial awareness and ability to collaborate with sales teams on advertiser-led opportunitiesConfident representing the category in client-facing situationsEstablished industry contacts or ability to build strong relationships within the sector
